Virtual Writers Workshop
Mary Alexandra
June 11 7-9 pm
On June 11th, from 7-9 pm Eastern/4-6 pm Pacific, Mary Alexandra Stiefvater will lead a virtual writer's workshop titled: "You are the Poetry of America."
Have you ever wished you had more time to do something you love or learn something new, like write a poem? Come and let your creativity run wild. Don’t worry if you have never written a poem, we are going to dive into the fun, in an easy and accessible way. We’ll explore a few different themes and types of poems (like haiku and free verse) and most importantly, take some time to write a few of our own. As Carl Sandburg said, “Poetry is a pack-sack of invisible keepsakes. Poetry is the opening and closing of a door, leaving those who look through to guess about what is seen during a moment.”
This workshop is for all skill levels and ages, especially beginners, and will invite you to contribute your own verse. Hosted by the Carl Sandburg Home National Historical Site through the National Parks Service and The Friends of Carl Sandburg at Connemara, come join us on Zoom for a fun evening! And its free!!!
